can i have both h1b and b1 and travel on b1 first and then on h1

i have 10 yr b1 from my current employer and also have h1b stamped 10 days back from a new company which i will join in us sometime in feb. i want to travel for a business meeting using my current b1 in dec and then want tomove to us using my new h1b sometime in fabruary.

i have follwoing question

1. will my h1b be cancalled if i travel on b1.
2. is it legal to travel on b1 if i have h1b from another company.

At the port of entry, tell the officer to use your B1 so that you get your I 94 with caveat B1.

Next time you travel use your H1. So that you get your I 94 card with caveat H1B1 to get your Social Security number and start working with your sponser.
