H1B visa experience info needed

Hello Everyone,

I have recently completed Masters degree in United Kingdom and now has been employed by a consultancy firm in US and they have sponsored me for my H1B visa this year. I havent gone for my interview yet but will go shortly and my visa interview will be in chennai

My main question: How important is work experience for H1B visa and will the consulate reject applications if there is no work experience in the related field though the company has recruited on the basis of technical expertise and degree level knowledge?

2nd question: If a small consultancy firm is your sponsor, is there any disadvantages and if so please mention few points?

It is completely dependent on the way your application was presented to USCIS. If they mentioned experience then you can be in trouble otherwise there are no problems.

ne thing is if your company has a history of abuse of visa then you can get stuck with long verification process. look at all the 221(g) posts on this forum.
