  • Can I apply H4 for my spouse now?

    Hi Seniors,
I attended to H1 interview on 1st nov, 2007 and after 221(g), I got visa stamped on 21st Nov, 2007. I am planning to fly to US in the first week of January, 2008.

But my spouse wants to attend for H4 now. So, can anyone please give your advice whether she can attend for H4 now? Is it better to attend now or after I land in US and join in the job?

If anyone had similar experience, Please help in this regard.
    Thanks for your time.

    Regards,
    SKG

Do they ask her, why she didnot attend with me?

OK. But, I got visa on 21st Nov, 2007 only and at that time she didnot attend to interview with me.

Q1: Is it ok if she attend to interview now, when I am in India only?

Q2: Do they (VO) ask her, why she didnot attend with me?

Q3: what are the required documents?

Please help me. Thanks for your time.

It is okay, if you have visa in advance. You can apply H4 visa directly at the US consulate in India as it is simple and you do not need any petition filing.
A1) both of you need to present for interview.
A2) Doesn’t matter what VO will ask but be honest (may be she did not wanted to come before due to study or due family/parents but later she decided to come to US).
