H4 Visa Details

Hi all,
I am intending to call my wife on H4 visa.
There is a small spelling mistake in her passport when compared to her educational certificates.
She is an NRI and her passport is issued in other country through ndian embassy.
I was worried if this could be an issue for her visa stampping.
Please advice me what to do!

It will be an issue so avoid it. Spelling mistake on passport can easily be corrected by applying for correction in passport with required documents to regional passport office and she will have the passport within a week (expedite process but will cost Rs. 1500).

Dear Mushtaq, Thanks for your private message where you want “change of name in educational certificates instead of change of name in passport”.
My advice is better to change name on passport than educational certificate which is easier, fast, not complicated and will not affect person in future for this simple spelling mistake on passport.
