Passport number changed after interview date is fixed... please help

My H1 visa interview date is scheduled for 22-Jan-2008. We are also appearing for H4 for my husband and son.

The address spelling was wrong in my husband's passport and so we applied for address correction. They have cancelled his passport now and said another will be issued with the corrected address. Will this affect the visa application? Can we change the passport number after we get the new one?

Pls let me know what I can do on this… Will they reject the visa because of the confusion in the passport numbers?

Should we cancel this date and apply for another interview date? Please help

Get your passports fixed and then go for the interview.That will be the best...even if this means waiting for 2 months for your passport and then go for the interview.
