Plz help!

Hi All,
I am an Indian citizen currently in USA on H1. This month end I am going to India and will be returning on 1st March 2008. My current Visa will expire on 11th March 2008 and I-94 is valid till 21st March. I applied for Visa extension long back in October 2007 and have got the Visa extension approval from USCIS. Today I have my new Visa papers (petition) with me. That visa validity starts from 12th March and expires in Sept. 2010.

Now, my question is: Do I need to appear for Visa extension interview before coming to USA? As I mentioned earlier, I'll come back to US on 1st March and current Visa is valid till 11th March. Will there be a problem at the port of entry in US if I don't appear for interview? Please advise.

---- If you have received an I-94 along with your H1 extension, there is no need to appear for a Visa interview and get a Visa stamped

---- This is provided that you return before the expiry of the Visa that you already possess. At the POE show your new H1 extension and get the I-94 valid till the date of your new petition

Thank you Subramanya. I have received I-94 along with my new petition. There is also a note mentioning to tear off the printed I-94 and staple it to Original I-94, if available.
My current Visa is valid till 11th March and I'll be returning to US on 1st March. So, as per law, I should be allowed to enter USA. But I've been advised by many people to appear for the interview. Hence the confusion.
