Can I change H1B petition from one employer to another employer

I was attended H1B interview in October 2007 in chennai consulate that time they had issued 221(G) blue form. Now my emplyoer is not in a position to provide the required documents.
Is it possible to transfer the existing H1B petition from one employer to another employer?

Please let me know the possible ways to use the existing H1B petition.

---- Yes it is possible. Find another employer and ask them to apply for a transfer of your H1

---- No personla replies please. Your situation can be faced by many and many would like to know the solutions. My solution is only one way of overcoming the problem. There can be many others. That's the reason we are having a forum
