I got H1B visa in '07 but couldnot work till now. How long can I hold my H1B status?
I received H1B visa in 2007 but could not start working. How long can I retain my H1 status without working?
I came to US in 2006 on H4 and obtained H1B in 2007. I could not start working in 2007 because I was pregnant and decided to start working from January 2008. Unfortunately, now my daughter is sick and admitted in hospital for some long term treatment. So, I may not be able to start working until about a year. Can I retain my H1b status for about couple of years on maternity leave? If no, is there any other way to retain my H1 status?
My husband is filing for green card later this year and we just want to make sure we wont end up with a legal hustle with this whole thing.
