H4 visa ON HOLD at CHENNAI Consulate... PLEASE HELP!!!!

My wife's H4 visa is on hold at the Chennai Consulate. The only reason they mentioned is Administrative Processing... They are supposed to get back to us but that did not happen till now. The visa was applied (thru drop box) on the 1st of April.

FYI:
I was laid off by my previous employer and the visa on my passport is valid till 2003. I applied for my wife's H4 on new employer's H1 along with the recent paystubs...

Does anyone know how to proceed on this.... PLEASE

hello am in the same situation my wife is going for h4 just days before my visa stam expiry in my passport.do plz let me know if you know the clue for this.Thanks in advance for your help.
