Query on combined stay of H1 & L1

Hi,

I have a query regarding the 6 years of stay that is allowed on H1 including the L1 stay.

I first came into the US on L1 in 2004. Later I got a my first H1 in 2006. Will my L1 stay be considered in my H1 stay? I have heard that as per the new rules, L1 period is not considered in the H1 period of 6 years. So can I stay for another 6 years from the date my new H1 was issued ?

Total 6 years. I am not sure which new rule you are referring to.
