  • H4 Stamping!!

    Hi,

I recently got married and my wife is going for her H4 stamping in a few weeks. She got her passport back in 2004 and she was staying at a different address. SO her passport has that old address, but we made our marriage certificate on her current address. I have a few questions.

    1. When I fill up the DS 156 form, do I fill up her current address or address on passport? If I fill the form with the address on passport, would I have to provide proof of residence?

    2. Because of the differing address between marriage certificate and passport, will there be any problems?

    3. Should I change the address on passport before she appears for stamping?

    4. She is working as a software engineer in bangalore, should I fill up all that related information in DS-156 and DS-157?

    Appreciate any suggestions.
    Thank you
    Venkat

The address she currently lives at should be okay. No big deal.

About providing info that she is a Software Engineer, always be truthful on DS-156. H4 allows for immigrant intent anyway and there is no harm in saying that she is a Soft. Engr. Always tell the truth.

      H4 Stamping

      Just to confirm,

The difference in the address, in the passport and marraige certificate is OK.
Will I have to provide some kind of proof for the new address?

      Thanks for your response

Bo big deal. If you want to carry a proof of address. If you want to.

I mean one may relocate, can't one? As long as you provide your right address, it's okay.
