Employment During Stamping ? Is that Mandatory ?

I would like to know whether,should I be Working at

my present / any organization,while appearing for H1b Stamping ?

Iam yet to appear for stamping,since iam awaiting the H1B approval

Notice from USCIS,which my employer has lost unfortunately.

Also the delay in appearing for H1B stamping,will it affect the chances of

getting it stamped successfully ?

Hi DMX17,

Iam still in Chennai Working with a Leading IT Company ,My petition got

selected in Random Lottery Process during April 2007,for which iam yet to

appear for Stamping,since iam awaiting H1B Approval Notice - I 797 from

USCIS,which my employer has lost and subsequently reapplied during Dec

2007.Also one of my friend, who case was similar to mine (we applied

through same consultant), got his Visa stamped during 1st week April 2008.

1.At this stage i would like to know, whether should i be employed, at the

time of Visa Stamping ?

2. Also this delay in appearing for stamping, will have

any effect when during my Personal appearence @ Consulate for H1B Visa

Stamping ?
