Visa extension help

My visa is expiring this september.
Do i need to go back to India or out side of US to get visa stamped?
or I can get visa stamped when I go back some time after sep?

A visa is for entry to the U.S. If you file for an extension, you can stay here legally with the expired visa stamp with an approved/pending extension.

I think it's best to go for visa after/around the time your current visa expires.
