My Employer+Client stays in North Carolina.
I wish to Stay in NJ with my friend.

Hence, I wish to have my port of entry on NJ / NY .. is it valid?/

    Thanks, Suresh BJ

    As long as ...

... you have justifiable reasons and can show evidence if required as well as the time period is not too wide.

Yes, you can land in NJ and then take domestic transportation to NC.

Try to keep the NJ stay period to a minimum. In other words you cannot claim to stay with your friend for several months before proceeding to NC, it doesn't add up.

    Take care.

        Make sure ...

... you have a letter from your friend that says you can stay with him/her for so many days and it has his/her full contact information.

This will be good enough for you to justify that you're landing in NJ and then travelling to NC.

Also, you need to be prepared to inform the officer on how exactly are you going to travel to NC, specifics, no if and buts!

        Good luck.

You need not ensure that they collect that from you. You should be in a position to provide the documents if asked. Need not volunteer the extra piece of info unnecessarily.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
