So what you are saying is that USCIS is not going to send any rejections before 06/02. Not even the cases that were under Premium processing. Am i correct in my understanding here.

here is the excerpt from oh law firm:

Your past one month waiting should be taken as a piece of cake. According to the California Service Center, those cases which failed to make it in the lottery will not be mailed out until June 5, 2008. Since the receipt notices for winners will also be sent out by June 2, 2008, considering the mailing time, you will not learn whether you made it probably until the end of first week of June or the second week of June 2008! Thus unfortunately, you should keep holding your breath for another month.

      waiting for H1B result

      hi,

we are 14 coworkers have applied in regular quota this year to the same company. one of us have got his receipt and rest of us are waiting for the result. but when, one of us have got his result selected, does it mean...rest of us have been rejected? or still there is chance of getting the receipt?

      Please confirm...

Each case is independent. One selection does not mean the rest are rejected.

          manual filtering fo applications...

thanks a lot txh1b for your reply.

I came to know that USCIS is filtering the applications manually based on year of education and experience after running the lottery process. Is it true?

            Not true.

USCIS is filtering based on zodiac signs, according to some Pundit ****. Never listen to rumors.

If one is selected, USCIS of course verifies that everything is in order. Shady employers are likely to be scrutinized than decent employer. If you employer is decent and really has a job for you, you don’t have much to worry about given you make it in the lottery.

I agree... lets not try to deconstruct a black box with very limited information!

Thats unlikely... I have a PhD and so does my friend... all other variables are identical... she's got a receipt and i havent.

The hard part for me at least is dealing with not making a lottery with an 80% chance of winning.

This happens to get the first place in "Funniest rumor of the year" award. People are real creative, huh? How did USCIS miss the time of birth of the person? May be that should be a required field on the I129.

                    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are three possible things to consider:

All selected PP applicants should receive a receipt/approval/RFE (all meaning you were selected in Lottery) by Today (4/29/08) since today is the 15th day. I assume USCIS, like everyone, loves money.

All selected Regular applicants should receive a receipt/approval/RFE by 6/2/08.

Then there is the waitlisted people and rejected people. I read that USCIS has said that they need 4 weeks to notify the waitlisted folks (probably a receipt mentioning the same) AND not selected folks (return the packet). This should mean that by 6/28/08 (although the source says 7/28/08), everyone not selected should know where they stand. Those waitlisted should hope for a positive outcome after this date until they get the final verdict.

                    Oh law has it. "

                      help...

                      question:

what if someone has receipt and it says pending in the case, what does it mean?
does it mean that person considered as a waitlisted folks?

                      Thanks,
