I-94 number maching.

I have applied for new H1 in Jan 2002. I am yet to receive my new H1 (extension). In the mean time I visited India and came back. Now I got new I-94 which is different from the one I submitted for H1 extension.

Is this going to be a problem because of the I-94 on the H1 which I am going to get shortly dose not match with the new I-94 in my passport?

If so what I need to do ?

Please help me , my new I-94 is going to expire this month end,

If your 797 approval is dated after you entered US, then you can start using the new I94. There is no rule that all subsequent I94s should have the same number. It is just a way to track your passage thru POE.
While going out of US next time, hand over both the I94s...
