how do i find if h1b is actually applied

i've applied for H1b visa thru a consultancy.I havent' got any receipt till now.
Does this mean i didn't get thru the lottery. I've paid lot of money to the consultancy and i doubt them if they really applied for the visa. Is there any way i can cross check this. Pls provide some info.

you can only get to know thru by your employer.

To get to know whether you are selected or not in the lottery, you have to wait till 02 June 2008.

You said you paid a lot of money for them to file for you. You are legally permitted to pay only a few of the fees; some like attorney fees are non-refundable. Fees to USCIS for applications not selected in lottery are refunded since the checks are not cashed. Fees after processing has begun are not refundable. You cannot check on your potential employer.

By the way, trying to buy a visa is illegal.
