  • H1b transfer - How long will I have to wait?

My new Employer has applied for my H1b transfer. It is a reputed desi IT firm.
Can someone answer my questions below:-

    1) How long does it take to get the receipt from USCIS?

    2) How long does it normally takes to get an approval?

    3) Someone told me that reputed employers seldom gets their transfers rejected. Is that a myth or truth?

    Thanks in advance

    1. Depends on the rush and the season. Usually 7-10 days.
    2. 2-6 months
    3. Depends on the candidate's status history and the employer.

Is it legal to join before one receives the receipt number from USCIS?

You can join the new company with a confirmatory document from your carrier (FedEx, DHL, USPS whatever!) that your application was delivered to USCIS.

          Thanks... I have another question.

I have not yet got my H1b satamped and am working on H1b COS from my prev L2 status. Someone told me that I can expect approval of my H1b transfer without new I94 and that will imply I will have to mandatory go for stamping. Is that true?
Note: I have always maintained my status and have never been on bench
