H1B extention through multiple employers

Say i initiated the H1B extention with the current employer, now i switch my employer (still my extn with previous employer is in process), is this possible???

I mean Is changing employer after initiating the extention with old employer is legal??

Also, How soon should i initiate my H1B extension? Is 3 months bf expiry is enough or u need 6 months ?

It is possible and leagl. You can get your employer to file before 6 months of expiry. Rest is your/employer's choice.
