Stamp H1-B Visa

Hi, I am an professor in a U.S university and got my H1B approval. I am planning to go to india in december to get my visa stamped on my passport..my question is that i heard they will do background checks and may take as muc as 2 months to give me the stamp. I need to know if that is true or we get the stamp within two days just like a visitor visa? that is, get an appointment, appear for the interview and then get the visa stamp the same day or the next?? thanks

It all depends if your research area involves a need for delays due to it being on TAL.
