Having a valid H1-B & working in India for past 9 months, docs needed to apply for H4

Hi All,
I have been working in USA (March 2007 to Sept 2007) and my H1 is valid till Sept 2009. I came to India on Nov 2007 and got married. Now I am planning to go with my wife to USA after almost an year. What are all the documents needed for my wife to appear for a H4 stamping at chennai consulate. I have my prev pay stubs and my Fedral tax returns. I can get my employement letter from my employer. will it be sufficient ?
OR is it necessary that I need to be staying in USA while my spouse is appearing for a H4 visa.
