COS to H1 while L2 EAD is under process

I have an approved I797(H1) from last year qouta, not stamped. Subsequently I obtained a L2 visa and entered US on L2. I would now like to apply for a change of status to H1.In this regard I had the following question:

On my L2 I have applied for a EAD about 3 weeks ago. USCIS says that it could take upto 90 days to approve the same.During this time if I apply for a COS to H1, would it influence the decision making on the L2-EAD approval or they are completely separate processes?

Separate. Last action rule holds. Once H1b COS is approved, L2 is invalid.
