I-94 of H4 Dependants

Hi,

I have applied for my wife and kid's H4 extension with CSC 2 months before their H4 Visa and I-94 expires. The notice from INS CSC states that it will take at least a year for the approval to come.
Since theirs I-94 expires shortly ,will my family still be in status without a valid I-94 even if I am in status as the principle alien.

I would greatly appreciate you answer and help to my query as I am getting different answers from everyone.

As long as you applied before expiry, they would be in status.

Hello,

My wife's current I-94 expires on Sep 29,2007.
I filed for H4 but that will be valid from oct 1st.
What should we do for that 1 day gap?
Please let me know.
