  • changed jobs between the application and approval of H1-B

    Hello guys,

I have a question, I was working for company X when my H1-B was filed and since it is a lottery, I had another job offer at that time so I took that up. I have been selected in the lottery but the H1-B papers that I received say my old designation as a Technology specialist but I am now a solution architect with another company but still interested in job offered by the employer in the US.

What should I do when I approach the consulate? since the petition lists my old designation and I work for another company now as a solution architect.

    Can you please help?

Not an issue you should be worrying about.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Thanks txh1b; so my question is; should I go ahead and mention it on the DS-156 form that my present occupation is a solution architect with company ABC.

Yes, you should. You could current be a Managing Director of a company and still come as a programmer to US on a H1b if you have the skills. It does NOT matter.
