H4 to H1 --> Stamping Query

Hi,

My wife came to US on H4 visa in May 2008 and she got her H1 approved in July 2008. I applied for her H1 while she was in India. So, I suppose she can get the stamping done only from India.

Please tell me

1. After receiving her H-1B petition, what is the maximum length of time she can delay going for stamping? I mean can she get the visa stamped in Mar next year.

2. Is it possible for her to get the visa stamped in Canada or Mexico?

Please answer the queries.

She can get stamping done from Canada/Mexico too. Though it is preferable to goto India as other consulates may refuse to process her applicaiton and redirect her to home country consulate.

1. She can get stamping anytime if employer is fine with the delay.
