I am on H4, i got my H1-B approved and want to travel

Hi All,
I am currently in the US on H4 visa, my H1 B application got approved. I want to go to India as early as possible and come back before Oct. Will the status change be void if I travel to India? Can I come back on H4 or do I need to get my H1-B stamped?
This is really urgent, so please help.

Read about Efren Hernandez memo. You can return on H4 and status changes to H1 from Oct 1st.
