Travel during H1B

Hi all,

This forum is very informative.. My question may seem very trivial but I would really appreciate a reply to clear my mind..

I am working in the US on an H1 which expires in 2010. Is it okay if I go to India for a visit in 2009?? Is there any sort of stamping I need done in the US or India before coming back to the US? Are there any formalities I need to keep in mind? I have never done this before so I dont want to be unaware of anything. Any advise is welcome.

If you have a visa, valid petition and you have held proper status all the time, nothing special needs to be done.
