H1 Transfer while h1 extenson is in security check

Hi All,

I am with company A from past three 3yrs and my H1 got expired on oct 1st 08. I have applied for the extension from same company in jun 08. unfortunately my extension got stuck in security check. since we don't know how much time it takes i am planning to apply h1 thru company B. Because i am waiting to file h4 for my wife once i get the h1 approval.

Can i apply another h1 thru different company when my extension is in security check? Did anybody experienced this situation?

You could but that may also get into the same problem. Security check is for the person/name.
