H4 to H1 without original petition

Hi, I was initially on a H1B Visa with company A, but then i left them and was on H4 for some. Since my earlier company (company A) has cancelled my visa and taken the original petition away, is a change of status still possible from H4 to H1?

Also, if an employer is ready to sponser my visa and will it be a part of the new quota?

Possible if you have something to prove your H1b approval in the past like a copy of the approval, a receipt number, a visa. Search for "remainder" on the forum and read the posts.
