  • Tijuana H1b stamping from F1..stopped?

Heard that they stopped stamping from F1 to H1 at Tijuana..does anyone have updates?
The website of Tijuana consulate puts such conversions under 'can not apply' but have also heard of many folks getting it done.
    Can someone comments?

One of my colleague called Tijuana embassy today and they confirmed the same starting from Nov 1st. She has her appointment on last week of Nov.

The website had the same info for many years now. I fail to see any new updates saying they are not allowing this. Am i missing something?

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

I did call the Tijuana consulate and they said that rules might be changed 'soon' (without telling me when). However, they also confirmed that if you have an appointment already, you should not worry and they will likely let you apply. I'm going to call on the day before the appointment anyways just to be on the safer side. I was curious if anyone else did the same and had any experience. Please post if you have any.
