Need suggestion for H1B transfer

Please suggest me how to proceed

As i am currently working for X company and my visa and I 94 got expired by sep 08. Already applied for visa extension with X company in the month of June08 from VSC. Till now i haven't got my extension papers.

In the mean time i am planning to transfer to company Y.

My question: Is it possible to transfer my H1B to company Y as i don't have valid I797 and I94?

Possible but have a good attorney do it and file for premium and move to the new job only after the petition gets approved.
