I have a full time job... i was lookin to do some extra hours... One of my friends told me that it illegal to work for 2 employers and it reflects bad on your green card processing. is that true??

You can get a part time H1B if a company can sponsor for you.
No, if you get a proper additional work permit and pay your due of taxes, then it has no negative effect on your permanent resident application.
