  • Wrong selection of state in DS156 form

    Hi All,

With regard to the filling of form D156 would like to have a clarification with respect to the following scenario,

Currently i am filling this form for the second time and have made a wrong selection for the State dropdown (column 2. Place of Issuance State/Province current selection is Assam which is incorrect, The correct selecting is Andhra Pradesh), since I have already selected the edit option for modifying the form, that column is grade out & I am not able to edit would render my DDs void, please suggest how can I change the entry for State dropdown from Assam to Andhra Pradesh.

If not possible to change what is the other alternative to do
    My appointment is 04Dec 2008

    Thanks & Regards

    Venkat

    That's fine ...

... just make the correction on paper directly and tell the VO during the interview.

When did you take this appointment. NO one knows how the selection of state effects the availability dates at different consulates that comes up in the next webpage while making an appointment.

Changing states could change things. It also might be assumed that you chose an incorrect state to get appointment date quicker, as you know how many ppl from ap apply for US visa compared to Assam!

Changes to 1 thru 14 in DS 156

        Hi

Here is the link for immihelp url that talks of editing the DS-156 form. This looks like it is posted by VFS.

It says that the DS-156 can be edited till 2 days before the appointment. However editing the points 1 thru 14 (yours is 13th) is not feasible once you submit it. It advises the applicants to make the corrections in pen and take it to the consulate.

Do not worry....just make correction and take it..

        Thanks

          Hi All,

I got the below replay from Visa Information Unit

"Thank you for your inquiry. If you are not able to edit the information
online, please change it manually on the DS 156 & bring it to our
attention while we verify your documents on the day of your interview."

          Thanks & Regards
