H1 visa advise plz

Hi all,

Myself and my husband both are on H1 visa. I got my H1 visa this October. will i be considered independent or dependent on my husband? I'm not getting my salary yet, the employer is also not running the payroll for me.

You are independent but out of status as not getting paid being on H1B.
