I-94 while travelling interim application process of EAD

Hi,

I am on L2 going to apply for EAD. I have to travel to India in next month.

Can anyone clarify if I can travel to India after applying for EAD & before it got processed. If I travel, is there any problem with my I-94;

BTW the application form for EAD (I-765) has I-94 number as one field.

USCIS verifies your status based on I-94 to qualify for an EAD. If you travel, I-94 gets closed and is no longer valid. USCIS will not process the EAD or could issue an RFE or result in long delays. It is better that you stay or apply after your travel.
