Change of Status from L2 to H4

Hi,

I am working on L1 status as of today. I am planning to shift on H1B on Feb 1st as my H1B and COS (change of status) is approved.

Now if I apply COS for my family on Feb 1st itself, is it Legal for them to stay in US with COS in applied status.

Please suggest.

If your COS is approved, it is illegal to continue to work on L1 and your family is already out of status if a COS for them was not applied. Time to talk to a lawyer.
