Second time 221g...

Hi guys,

I went for my H1 stamping on 20th Jan,2009 and got 221g (a pink handout).

Earlier also I got 221g when I tried for B1. But that time I got it cleared.

Since then I have been to US a couple of times. But still 221g!!!

Any reasons why again???

Pink handout means that your case requires further administrative processing(AP).

But what I'm asking is why again as I've gone through the same when I got B1in 2007.

It is because of your name. You will get it every time unless you are not named "Amit"

Seems like you have both red flags. Amit and Kumar in your name as per my guess from your forum id. Does that mean double delay?

Embassy is asking for employment details...

Hey txh1b,

I got a call from the embassy and they asked for my emplyment details for all my past and the current employer.

I'm not sure why they are asking for these but anyway can you please comment on how long this might take again.

Or if it is common for them to ask these details.

My case is pending since Jan'09.

No guess on the timeline as it is purely based on individual case. They probably want to verify there is no fraud.

I, finally, have got my visa after 130 days of wait.

OMG!!! These were real tough times.

Everyone out there in the same boat, hang on a bit more. U'll get it soon.
