  • H1-B renewal stamping issues

    Hi All,
My H1b visa 3 yr term expired on sep 30th 2008, and i got it renewed for the second term till 2011. I am planning to visit india this month (i.e Feb 09), I am hearing lot of people talk about possible rejections on renewals at the consulate in India due to the prevailing conditions in US.
I am not sure if there are any reported issues like this, I am still working for the same company which filed my original H1 but my company did lay off a few in dec last. I fear there can be a question from VO and cause some problems in my case.

Anybody in same boat as me?

    H1 renewal/extn worried

    Hi Ranju / All,
I am in the same situation as U are. I did hear a few stories of H1 renewals/extns getting declined but also heard of other cases where they get approved without much fuss. I've heard consultes in Mexico/Canada are rejecting more than others. I am not sure whats the situation in Indian consulates.
I would appreciate if someone throws more light on this.

    Thanks,
    Rohit

      Hi,
I plan to visit India during April. Even my visa is expired and I have to go for visa renewal stamping.

I work for a client and get pay stubs but my consulting company is a small with very few people.

Is there any queries nowadays for renewal stamping. What kind of documents I should have.

      Thanks
      Carlin

        Hi All,

I don't think so that VO's are asking diifferent kind of questions nowdays for Visa renewal stamping.
They are asking the usual questions (may be more no of questions) to satisfy that ur employer , ur job , your profile is genuine.
What i can see that if they have a little doubt - they are putting it in Admin processing to verify everything from their end OR handing out forms only if something is missing from ur end(documents /information)

They are not just declining/rejecting because of economy recession or unemployment in US.

So you all have to make sure that you have all the documents (even if you think it is of little importance) and documents from ur employer .

Maybe someone can post his/her recent experience

        Thanks ,
        Abhay
