Query on H1 extension

Hi

I have a query on H1 validity

I got my H1 (I-797) in May 2004.But did my stamping in May 2006 and came to US in June 2006.

question :
My six years of H1 will be counted from June 2006 when I first came to US or from May 2004 when I got my approved I-797.

Pls let me know what you think.

Only time spent on US soil on H1b status is counted. Trips and vacations outside US can be recaptured as well into the 6 years.
