  • L1 to H1

    Hi,
I am working for employer A on L1B visa. I came to US in June2008 in L1 visa. I came to know in mid-june 2008, my H1-B petition filed by employer B got approved. Because of the economy slowdown I did not go for H1B stamping.

Now if I want to work for employer C, I need to do so under H1B. Is it possible to do H1B COS transfer from US itself? And start working, without going for stamping? Should I have worked for employer B before transfer?

    Thanks in advance,

You need to learn basics of H1. Read FAQs. Was your H1 filed with COS? I'll simplify you, did you provide your I-94 copy while applying for H1?

      Thanks for your reply.

H1 was not filed as COS. H1 petition was filed in the home country. Before the lot, L1 got approved and travelled to US.
