  • L1 to B2 COS

Recently I have lost my job as a surprise. I have applied for a COS to B2. But it seems that the processing time of COS will be long. I want to stay in the US for 2/3 weeks to terminate my lease and other contracts. Is it legal to stay these 2/3 weeks period while my COS will be processed?

Yes, if you have applied for it before your job loss. Leave immediately after you take care of unfinished businesss so you have a reason to explain in case of a COS denial when you appear for a visa in the future, if asked.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
