  • Company is demanding bond breach amount to issue Experience Letter

    Hi All,

I am planning to attend H1B Extension interview on April 3rd at Chennai.

I came to US in April'08 on H1B from Company A and they asked me write a bond (on white paper) to agree to work for them for 2 years otherwise I have to pay 4K. I changed the employer recently and working for different company.

Now, Company A is asking me to pay 4K to issue Experience Letter from them. I have offer letter given by company A. Do I really need the experience letter from this company for the purpose of H1B interview.

    Thanks in advance,

    ~ Sagar

Do not pay a penny to such people. You can prove your experience through peers, employment letter, paystubs, W2s etc. You do not need the old company letter but would need to prove you held proper status in US.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
