H4 to H1 COS status: applied this year, want to visit India

I am on H4 visa presently and have applied for change of status to H1B.

I want to visit India soon for a few days

If I get H1B approval while in India,

1. Should I wait till October for stamping and come back only after getting the stamp
or

2. Can I come back on H4 before October without getting H1 Stamping and go for stamping later ( from Cananda, Mexico or Bahamas)?

---- You can do either of them depending on your personal preferences. However, be cautioned that when you go to Mexico/Canada/Bahamas for a visa stamping they may ask you to go to your home country, get the visa and then come to US. If you are prepared to travel back and forth, you may do so. Else, if you are lucky, you may get the visa and come right into US with a H1 visa and a I-94 for H1
