question on I797c form

Hi ,

I have my h1bapproved for 2009 , but on the I 797c form the consulate mentioned is mumbai, although my passport is from hyderabad. I was only born in pune but have been residing in hyd since 15 yrs. My question is do I have to go to mumbai consulate just because it is mentioned on I 797c form. replies will be highly appreciated.

You have to attend in the consulate that has jurisdiction in your area of domicile i.e Hyd.

797C is just a receipt.
