  • H1 extesion with a different employer

    Hi,
I am holding H1 since 2004 and my H1 is going to expire within couple of months (I have already done a renewal around 3 years back.) My I-140 is approved and I think my H1 can be extended based on that.

    1. My question is, can a different employer apply for my H1 extension based on the I-140 filed by my current employer?

    2. If possible is there any documents (that related to I-140) that my future employer needs to get from my current employer / lawyer for the H1 processing?

    Any input greatly appreciated.
    Thank you for your time.

    1. Yes
    2. Proof of I140 approval and that your PD is not current.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
