Employer filed banruptcy, no pay for 4 months--need help,desperate

My employer hasn't been paying us salary for the last 4 months, they screwed up their business and atlast they filed bankruptcy, moved us to a different employer.
My question is what do i need to do to get my back wages....who is responsible.
Do i need to call the DOL and file a case.how do i go about it.
My stupid employer played with our lives.really angry but donno what to do.
