  • H1 stamping

    Hi

I have H1 visa that got approved May, 2008. I need to go for visa stamping. Can any one suggest me whether i can go to any place else other than India (like Cananda and Mexico) for my visa to get it stamped or not? And also i heard that for PhD students and Postdoc's, it is taking at least 3-4 months for their visa to get it stamped in India. I am working as a Research Associate (with MS qualification) in veterinary biosciences field and am i gonna get the same waiting time?

Thanks for your time and would appreciate any suggestions.

There is no such thing as a systematic delay for PhD students. technology alert list people (chemistry related, databases etc.) may have to wait for further processing.
If you changed status from F1 to H1 and this is your first H1 stamping, you have to go to home country. It cannot be done in Canada.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
