F1 to H1 question

I am on F1 visa with OPT completing by end of June09. My H1B is approved with a company for 2009 CAP. The comapany sponsered H1 will try to find a job for me as it is contract company. How long can I wait until I have to run pay roll with this company if I do not get job?

--- Irrespective of your employer finding you a client/project, come Oct 1, your payroll should start.
