H1B Extension

Hi,

My h1 visa & I94 will expire in Aug 2009. I am right now in search of next project so can not provide a client letter. How soon should i apply for my h1b extension ? Can i just apply few days before it expires or is there a time line for applying extension before it expires ?

Better to apply well in advance. (maybe 1 month before). But make sure to have all recent pay stubs.

H1 has rfe can i try L1

i have been in US since 4y6month on h1 b. my h1b extension has an RFE know and I-94 has expired.
1. can I apply for L1 after going to india?
2. will I get L1 for up to 5years or since i was in us for 4yrs6months, they can issue l1 for only limited time like remaining 6months.

Any help is greatly appreciated as there few depencies i need to plan for--Thanks
