Chances of visitor visa? inspite of having Approved H1?

Hi

My cousin got her H1 last June and she hasn't gone for visa stamping because of 2 things. 1. Bad job market 2. A person from the same H-1 sponsoring employer got queries on the company.

She is now planning to get a visitor visa. Is it a good idea to apply for visitor visa when she has an approved H-1?

By luck, if she gets the Visitor visa, can she work on the basis of approved H-1?

---- Yes, your cousin can get a visitor visa (B1/B2) after appearing for an interview for the same. It does not affect the H1 visa in any manner

By luck, if she gets the Visitor visa, can she work on the basis of approved H-1?

---- NO and NO. Coming on a B1/B2 visa you cannot work even though one may have an approved vis for working like H1. To work on H1, you have to enter US on H1 for the intended employer and start work

---- If at any time you are found doing this you may be deported back to your country of origin
